Hi all, we’re
back. Have had a pretty busy quarter and have been putting all our
efforts into the release of The Right Approach 2.1. All the
additional features are listed below. The feedback we have received to
date has been great, because we know that all our hard work has been
worthwhile. Whilst on the note of ESP development, we have been
demonstrating Mantle, our integration workflow management tool to a
number of our customers – this has also had a lot of positive feedback. |

TRA 2.1 |
|
The main
thrust of this release has been the addition of a maintenance phase to
the methodology to allow changes to production
interfaces to be formally documented.
|
|
 |
| The
Microsoft Excel spreadsheet template ESP-Maintenance Issue List
(shown below) can be used to create
spreadsheets for tracking maintenance issues for a specific project
release. The Microsoft Word document
template ESP-Maintenance Release Detail can be used to create
documents that elaborate the business and technical changes required for
each issue. |
|
 |
| The process
of documenting component maintenance using the TRA-Maintenance
templates begins with creating a list of
Issues (bugs, enhancements, change requests)
in the ESP-Maintenance Issue List spreadsheet.
These can also imported from other tools such as Microsoft Project.
Once complete, the list of Issues can then be automatically
generated into a new document based on the ESP-Maintenance Release
Detail template by the Phase Engine.
Object metadata from TRA-Design documents is associated with the
listed Issues and is cached in the spreadsheet where
it can be referenced by the ESP-Maintenance Release
Detail document and the resolution of each
Issue is defined as a set of Changes. Finally,
a summary list of the Changes can be generated
back to the spreadsheet for resource allocation and
implementation planning. |
|
 |
|
Other features in the TRA 2.1 release include a toolbar
(shown above) which is accessible from both Microsoft Word and Excel to
provide an easier way of navigating to the document templates, an
expanded facility to control the local and global corporate settings,
and additional spreadsheet templates for the planning and testing
phases. |
